About the Land's End to John O'Groats Route

Known as one of the most famous cycling routes in the UK, 'LEJOG' will take you to the extremities of Great Britain. Starting in the most Westerly point of the British Isles, Land's End, the ride will traverse the hilly Cornish terrain before a tough stretch up and over the spectacular Dartmoor landscape. Aiming for a night in the beautiful Roman City of Bath, the ride will take you through the Mendips, including the famous Cheddar Gorge. From Bath, you'll cross the River Severn into Wales and skirt the Welsh boarder before entering Western England. The latter half of the trip takes you through the breathtaking Lake District for a rest day and traversing the stunning Scottish Highlands. The final leg will have you following the remote North Coast of Scotland to the most North East point of the UK, John O'Groats. The journey of roughly 1,000 miles will be a true test and one which will never be forgotten. What more rewarding way could there be to see the beauty of the UK?

Answering Your Questions .

How much does it cost?

We have no fee to ride the trip! The fundraising minimum is £1/mile for LEJOG which works out as a goal of £1,020. You will have a personal fundraising page and you can raise the funds however you like. Many expenses will be covered, including all overnight accommodations, maps, team apparel, support vehicles, route leaders, and minor bike maintenance. Food while on the road will be your main expense and the amount spent can vary greatly depending on whether you cook at camp or eat out for most meals.

Where do we stay at night?

We stay in a mix of townhalls, churches, campgrounds and community centres. We try to keep overnight expenses to a minimum so that more of the raised funds can be given to MS organisations we support. You are always welcome to pay out-of-pocket for a hotel room even when the team has other accommodations lined up that evening.

What's the level of support?

You will be provided the resources, framework, and support to bike across the UK! Your gear will be carried by support vehicles, your route leaders will be there to help you along the way, water stops will be set up every 20-30 miles, nightly accommodations will be ready, but the pedaling is up to you! We embrace camping to be able to donate more to those with MS. This is a van supported bike tour where roughing it is embraced.

What level of ability do I need to have?

All abilities are welcome on our rides! There will be no one telling you what speed to ride, what groups to ride in or when to stop. Although we help with your journey, the riding is very much for you to enjoy your way! Naturally the better prepared you are for the ride, the more enjoyable it will be, so ask us if you need advice with training!
